The Outdoor Classroom Project' newest initiative in collaboration with our partner Nature Explore is a reoccurring Leadership Institute held in multiple locations for early childhood educators, play yard designers and environmental activists to create transformational change nation-wide. Now in its eighth year, the Outdoor Classroom Project continues to expand its work as interest in the benefits of outdoor experience for young children continues to grow. As of November 30, 2008, the five years of funding for the Outdoor Classroom Project in Los Angeles County by First 5 LA came to an end. The CEC is most grateful for First 5 LA's support, which enabled this initiative to reach over 630 child care centers and over 3,000 early childhood educators in Los Angeles County. Outside the County, an additional 3,900 centers and 10,100 early childhood educators have been reached by the Project throughout California and beyond.
